This was a great call!! Learned a lot about strategies for marketing yourself and your craft business. Lisa from concious marketing now was interviewed by Cathy of NAEM {National Association of Entrepenureal Moms}.
Enjoy the notes:
1) Marketing must lazer in on your ideal client. They are the ones excited about growth. Figure out where they hang out and where you can find them. Question to ask yourself— Who are your favorite clients and why?
Multiple Ideal client disorder> you are scattered, unorganized, at difference with yourself.
When you are Marketing to Everyone you are maketing to noone!!
2) Always highlight your irrisistable juicey benefits.
features- vs- benefits
features> it doesn't tell somebody how to life change.
benefits > make more money, happy, more efficient, make these juicy and stand out from the competition.
Ask yourself— How are people different after working with me? Or my product?
It's not what your're doing or not doing, it's what your saying, or not saying. Is your marketing truly representing who you are?
3) Capatlize on what you as an individual unique? When you share who you are especially the aspect that relates to your topic.
Ask yourself– What do clients, family, and friends compliment you on?
these are not testimonials— what is it that they say about? If you were a fly on the wall when they compliment you? It's not braggin, it's sharing your passion. People who brag don't worry about it. Own what makes you great!!
4) Systematically translate your juiciness inot your marketing. Creat a system for yourself that holds you accountable. Create time to work on it all. Sometimes you forget to look att the big picture.
My favorite thing about the call was when she talked about introducing yourself to someone…..example:
Hi- What do you do?
I provide a group environment for sewers worldwide.
Then the person will ask– how do you do that? What is your company..ect.
It is a much better explain and lead into a better conversation than hi, my name is becky……
I need to work on that line— but you get the idea. Let's all make a line for ourselves to use for introductions…….share yours in the comments.
