Nancy Marmalejo shared some great tips on how to find your profitable essence. These are my notes from her call.
What is that 1 thing you do better than anything else? You can drop your medeocre stuff and boom – you grow. Don't try to do too many things at once. Spreads yourself way to thin. Take charge of 1 thing and make it great. Better than 4 things that are so-so.
Identify what the treasures are and display them properly.
Why do we need visibility? Online hugely important. People who you know –you are more likely to go to them. Let others know about your accomplishments. Give people hope. Inspire others. You are putting it out there as a service.
If noone has heard of you, then you are not credible. When others can verify you- then you are credible. 3rd party validation.
They find you and your website + big line of credibility.
Focus yourself. Online visibility. Build a visibility strategy that supports their expertise.
Looks like something you don't solicit. Take the logos/buttons from other blogs…. as seen on…or I have been featured on…..you are then recognized expert to add to your website. {i totally need to do this in a more prominant place on the blog.}
You need to have a distinctive and memorable pressence>
All messages look the same. clipart, colors, formula for newsletter.
Use the scaffold. At sometime you need to put it down and use your personal touch.
When you can stand next to ____ other crafty blogs you stand out and others recognize it. They are not so scared about you.
You need help finding it. You can find it in others…but looking at yourself. Shine out there. Be distintive.
Offering too many things can be confusing. They didn't know what is your special gift.
4 keys-
Validate> yourself. intuitive. What you know is true about you
Investigate> logical. Specific training. experience
Verify> credibility from outside sources. What proof?
Act> Do it. Take what you've learned. Take action. What is your next step?
Can't sit and wait. Put forth the effort. Starts from the heart based and ends in profit.
