Searching for Search in Crafty Blogs

I am not sure what has happened lately, but the more blogs I go to the less I see the SEARCH option.

Will you let me rant for a bit about this? Ok. Good.

I am always on the lookout for wonderfully talented sewers to interview– show trunk shows, link up with or whatever…and I am having a hard time finding the content that i need or a photo that I want to snatch {with their permission. of course.}

A SEARCH option is pretty much a default with anyones blog. You actually have to manually remove it.

So, I am not sure what the reasoning is on having is dissapear from your blog/website?

Could it be that you want to hide all the goodies from everyone? You make us resort to using Bing or Google to find the link and cross our fingers that is actually takes us to the correct post!

There is nothing more frustrating than using those search engines for something specific. Finding the link we would love to see. Going there and the page isn't found!

For a moment, I think, no biggie. I will use the sites SEARCH option to find it again. But noooooo….. there isn't one to be found!

What? I search the side bars. The menu bars. The footnotes of the page. Nothing. Not a hint of a SEARCH.

I am lost. Lost at how to find the origional post.

Lost at finding even more goodies on your site.

I get a bit urked….and do you think I would like to return to your site? Maybe. Maybe not. I don't want to go on a wild goose chase everytime I 'miss' some wonderful post of yours!

So this is a shout out — please find that SEARCH option and ADD it to your crafty blog!

Let us snoopers find what we need. Let us spend some time with your past posts and archives. We love to do that— but only if we are in control.

Even if you stick it at the weee bottom of the page. Let it still be there for us to use.

Making a Blog Button Link and Share Code

It was a toss up between 8 and 9. 8 was set realistic goals. lol

but, I think my favorite is:

9) Don't make do; get a new one.

I like it because I just recently threw out a website with a whole group/network inside!! Scary. I am currently looking into a new and more functional and productive site. One that works for what I need and want. No more programming headaches. Let's focus on the content now and make it wonderful!!!

Get it Together Would you?

I have to admit that lately I have been a slacker of sorts. Well, of everything. I have slacked on the life sort of stuff. The kids, the house, the body. You name it.

I have found myself in a grey zone. Nothing is working right. But seriously it is because I have been doing nothing.

We sold our home and are living currently with my parents. They have an extra large basement so we definitly have our own space….but I feel like a zombie. We don't go anywhere. Do anything. We just hang out. Do a bit of school. I work on the computer. Sew. Repeat. That's the day.

We are waiting for a bit of money {too bad it doesn't grow on a tree} before we can move from here. We are looking into a big career change along with a home change. Questioning every move is what I am good at….but to tell you the truth hiding is was I am pro at. I hunker down and do…nothing.

I will be listening again to the webinars…and posting them. I have a few plugins for WordPress that I have enjoyed and will share those.

This week.

This week I have decided that I need to get it together. I need to review my goals for the year, decide what really needs to happen and then ….do it!

I am a list maker. So I am hoping this is what I need to do and then all will be well. Well organized at least.

Any suggestions on keeping your head on straight and getting it together?

If there is no button add it to your reading or blogroll list on the sidebar
